University of Glasgow Medical Humanities Discussion Group Programme 2018/2019 – SEMESTER 2

The Medical Humanities Discussion Group exists to provide a forum for interdisciplinary exchange and convivial discussion around work in-progress, bringing together students, staff, and practitioners. The Discussion Group is convened by Dr Hannah-Louise Clark, Lecturer in Global Economic and Social History at the University of Glasgow. We are delighted to announce the following upcoming events, which take place in the Hetherington Building, room 129, at 1pm.

30 January – Moira Hansen, University of Glasgow. “’O’er all the ills of life victorious’: aspects of disordered mood in the poetry of Robert Burns”

13 February – Dr. Dahlia Porter, University of Glasgow, TBC

27 March – Dr. Jane Desmond, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. “Medical Humanities across the Species Line: When the Patient is a Dog, or Cow, or Parrot”.
