You are warmly invited to the next CSHHH workshop, co-organised with the RSE Young Academy of Scotland’s Health and Wellbeing group, which will explore how we might use historical research and knowledge to inform current debates and policy on health inequalities in Scotland.

The workshop will feature presentations from David Black (Centre for the Social History of Health and Healthcare, GCU), and David Walsh (Glasgow Centre for Population Health). David Walsh is the Public Health Programme Manager at GCPH and leads a number of different research programmes, included a large body of work aimed at understanding Scotland’s (and Glasgow’s) high levels of ‘excess’ mortality. David Black is currently undertaking doctoral research on the history of public health education in the NHS in Scotland after 1974. He is also a public health researcher with 30 years’ experience around health promotion and inequalities in health, and served as one of Scotland’s first Community Development health workers, developing both practice and policy for Greater Glasgow Health Board.

The event is open to all and there is no need to register. Please forward on to anyone who you think may be interested.
