Call for Papers: Morbid Laughter: Exploring the Comic Dimensions of Disease in Classical Antiquity

Location: Department of Classics, University of Patras (Greece)

Dates: Monday 12th – Tuesday 13th September 2016

Confirmed speakers include: Edith Hall (King’s College, London), Georgia Petridou (Erfurt University), Ian Ruffell (University of Glasgow), Dimos Spatharas (University of Crete), Chiara Thumiger (Warwick University).

We welcome abstracts for papers of 25-30 minutes from academics at any stage of their career and encourage postgraduate students and early career researchers to apply. Please submit your title and abstract (of up to 350 words) as a pdf or word document to George Kazantzidis (gkazantzidis@upatras.gr) and Natalia Tsoumpra (natalia.tsoumpra@glasgow.ac.uk) by Wednesday 15th of June 2016.
