We are very privileged to have Professor Jackie Duffin from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario give the CSHHH Annual Lecture this year. Jackie will present: ‘Tales from the Trenches: Bringing Medical History to Clinicians’.
A practicing physician, haematologist, and historian, Professor Jackie Duffin has combined her training and experience as a medical professional into ground-breaking and infectious historical research. Jackie is an advocate of history as part of medical education, and has effectively bridged the gap between medicine and the humanities. She is the author of over 50 peer-reviewed articles, two edited anthologies and six monographs, including, History of Medicine: A Scandalously Short Introduction, which is widely-read in medical schools and history departments around the globe. Jackie is a brilliant public speaker, whose passion for her subject comes out loud and clear in her presentations.
